After adding a custom HTML code in an article or a module, you may find out the HTML code is stripped out from some keay HTML tags once you saved the module/article. Especially, this issue applies to scripts (e.g. if you try to add Google Adsense on your website) or iframe and embed tags (e.g. if you try to add YouTube or Flash video).

Why Joomla remove some HTML code?

In Joomla configuration you can define different filtering options regarding the entered HTML code by members of each user group.
It is a protection against markup commonly associated with website attacks.
How to change these settings you will find out below.

Not Joomla! CMS, that’s for sure! You can use one template with different properties to chosen (sub)pages provided that your Joomla 3.x template includes configuration options which allow creating multiple different styles of a template with variations of these options.

This useful Joomla feature let the template apply to any of your site area (e.g. forum, contact page, your business description, etc.) with diverse template views.

It’s handy and easy to learn. In this tutorial, we will show you how to do it.

Making a duplicate.

The first step is creating a duplicate of the default Joomla 3.x template.

  1. Go to back-end Joomla! administrator panel.
  2. Click Extensions -> Template Manager.
You can also select the Styles menu link from the Template Manager: Templates screen.

  3. Select a style you want to duplicate (1) and then click "duplicate" button (2):

Animated GIFs enhance web communications in so many ways from moving graphics in ads to memes and email GIFs.

GIF maker lets us create simple animations in seconds rather than hours, which is the main reason we are all seeing more animated GIFs in our web browsing.

However, there are a few golden rules you need to apply whenever you use an animated GIFs. Ignore these commandments at your peril.

1. Every Animated GIF Must Have a Purpose

Your purpose behind creating an animation might be to make people smile or to promote your brand on social media. Keep your reason front and center in your mind during the creation process.

Branding

Your animated GIFs can only enhance your brand if people associate the two in their minds. Use your brand colors and fonts in every GIF and place your brand name in the bottom corner. Over time, people will know your company is behind your GIFs, even without the branding, but you should still brand every image as good practice.

Conversions

Animated ads help you to overcome ad-blindness in users because your animation attracts the eye, and novelty value attracts interest. Some affiliate products allow you to create your own visuals, but always check before the ad goes live, or you could lose any commissions you earn.

Using email GIFs can also help conversions if you don’t use them too often. Make sure the email header includes ‘GIF’ if you want people to open them.

By now, you might have known that Google prefers SSL/HTTPS based sites which means a better treatment in indexing and search result listing. The latest news is, Google Chrome browser has started flagging all HTTP websites as “Not Secure” (untrustworthy) without any exceptions. Are you scared? You should be. But don't worry! Now I will show how to enable SSL/HTTPS on a Joomla site in few easy steps.

We'll discuss on:

  • The quickest solution
  • A FREE and easy method
  • The manual and advanced ways

Did you know?

SSL/HTTPS enhances user-privacy by encrypting the data transmitted between a browser and the server.

Before adding SSL, you site’s URL looks like http://www.example.com. Activating SSL will make it https://www.example.com. To get it done, we need to work both in the site’s hosting server and domain SSL certificate control sides. An SSL certificate can secure one or more domains; to create an SSL host for a domain, you must have a certificate that secures that domain.

What is HTTPS and how will it help my SEO?

You may have read recent discussions online about why you need a ‘secure’ website and the pros and cons of HTTP vs HTTPS. Perhaps you’re now wondering how to make your site secure.

In this post we explain HTTPS, how to make the switch and how it can benefit your SEO, boost conversion rates and build trust in your brand.

What does HTTP mean?

HTTP stands for Hypertext Transfer Protocol and is a structure for transferring and receiving information on the web. When you visit an HTTP website, the connection between you and the website you’re visiting is unencrypted, meaning it could be intercepted by eavesdroppers looking to tamper with or steal your data.

How can I tell if  a website is HTTP?

If you visit an HTTP site in Chrome, you’ll see a clickable warning about the site not being secure in the address bar:

When you start to enter personal information such as your credit card number, password or name and address on an HTTP site, Google will show this ‘not secure’ warning:
